Combining Our backgrounds as

with A shared belief in the

power of nature.

Our story

Five years ago, we were both working in corporate jobs, frustrated by the growing gap between how people were expected to work and how they could actually thrive.

We spent our evenings and weekends escaping the office. Hec chased wild adventures; crossing oceans, running ultramarathons, summiting the Himalayas. Whilst Tommy focused on human connection; facilitating men’s groups and mentoring prison leavers, driven by a desire to help people reconnect with purpose, agency, and possibility.

Eventually, chance brought us together. Our shared vision for empowering company culture took shape, and the MERA Method was born.

MERA is now trusted by some of the UK’s fastest-growing brands to support their people in more meaningful ways.

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Different Paths. Shared Belief

Hector brings challenge, nature, and perspective forged in wild places. Tommy brings depth, curiosity, and a lifelong focus on human development. Together, MERA sits at the intersection - creating experiences where people reconnect with themselves, each other, and a better way of working.

  • Hec has long been drawn to challenge and time spent in nature. Through years of personal endurance projects and life in wild places, he experienced how shared hardship creates trust, perspective, and genuine human connection.

Alongside this, his corporate career revealed a growing gap between how people are expected to work and how they actually thrive. Choosing to step away, Hec brought these experiences together in MERA - driven by a belief that there is a more human way to work, built through meaningful time together, shared challenge, and the restorative power of nature.

  • Tommy has a deep curiosity about people - how we move through the world, relate to one another, and navigate life as humans. Living and working across Southeast Asia, Japan, and the Middle East shaped his appreciation for different human landscapes and systems, and for the relationship between modern life and the natural world.

Alongside MERA, Tommy facilitates men’s groups and mentors prison leavers, guided by a genuine desire to support others in reconnecting with purpose, agency, and possibility. His work brings a people-first lens to MERA, focused on reflection, development, and long-term change.
